| Acidaminococcus| Acidaminococcus Rogosa 1969 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Cook et al. 1994| Acidaminococcus Rogosa 1969 emend. Jumas-Bilak et al. 2007
Infections: Acidaminococcus species have been implicated in various types of infections, particularly in individuals with compromised immune systems or underlying health conditions. These infections may include abscesses, wound infections, bacteremia (bloodstream infections), and infections in association with prosthetic devices or implants. However, Acidaminococcus is not commonly considered a primary pathogen in human disease.
Dental and oral health: Acidaminococcus species are part of the oral microbiota and are commonly found in dental plaque and saliva. While they are generally considered commensal bacteria, dysbiosis in the oral microbiota, along with other factors such as poor oral hygiene or immune compromise, may potentially contribute to oral health problems such as dental caries (cavities) or periodontal disease.
Metabolic disorders: Some studies have suggested associations between alterations in the gut microbiota, including changes in the abundance of Acidaminococcus and other bacteria, and certain metabolic disorders such as obesity, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome. However, the specific role of Acidaminococcus in these conditions is not well-understood and requires further research.
Digestive health: Acidaminococcus species are present in the human gastrointestinal tract and are involved in the fermentation of dietary carbohydrates and amino acids. While they play roles in gut metabolism and may contribute to the production of short-chain fatty acids and other metabolites beneficial for digestive health, their specific impacts on gastrointestinal health or disease are not extensively studied.

Different labs use different software to read the sample. See this post for more details.
One lab may say you have none, another may say you have a lot! - This may be solely due to the software they are using to estimate.
We deem lab specific values using values from the KM method for each specific lab to be the most reliable.
