| Catenibacterium| Catenibacterium Kageyama and Benno 2000
Gut Microbiota: Catenibacterium is among the many bacterial genera found in the human gut microbiota. The gut microbiota is a complex community of microorganisms that plays a crucial role in various aspects of host health, including digestion, nutrient metabolism, and immune system modulation.
Metabolic Activities: Bacteria in the gut, including members of the Catenibacterium genus, contribute to metabolic processes in the gastrointestinal tract. This can include the fermentation of dietary fibers and the production of metabolites such as short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs).
SCFA Production: Short-chain fatty acids, particularly acetate, propionate, and butyrate, produced by gut bacteria, are known to have important effects on host physiology. They can influence energy metabolism, gut barrier function, and immune responses.
Limited Pathogenicity: Catenibacterium, as part of the normal gut microbiota, is generally considered commensal and not associated with pathogenicity. It is important for the maintenance of a balanced microbial community in the gut.
Research Focus: The understanding of specific roles and health impacts of Catenibacterium may be an active area of research. Researchers are continuously exploring the diversity and functions of bacterial genera in the gut microbiota to unravel their contributions to host health.

Different labs use different software to read the sample. See this post for more details.
One lab may say you have none, another may say you have a lot! - This may be solely due to the software they are using to estimate.
We deem lab specific values using values from the KM method for each specific lab to be the most reliable.
