Normal Microbiota: Veillonellaceae bacteria are commonly found in the oral cavity, gastrointestinal tract, and other mucosal surfaces of the human body. In many cases, they are considered commensal bacteria and are part of the normal microbiota.

For example, alterations in the abundance of Veillonellaceae have been observed in conditions such as periodontal disease and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
